Somewhat of a stranger in a strange land, I was born in New Zealand, grew up in Australia, and have lived in the USA since late 1999, first in College Station, TX and then in Corvallis, OR.
I am a veterinarian, professionally I am board certified in Small Animal Internal Medicine by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. I work at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon, where I am an Associate Professor (With Tenure) in Small Animal Medicine.
I have research interests in gastrointestinal and pancreatic disease, biological variation in clinical testing, transfusion medicine and methods for assessment of teaching and communication competence in preclinical veterinary students. You can PubMed me HERE if you like.
In my "spare" time I enjoy landscape and nature photography (particularly underwater, whenever possible), growing exotic plants, and futzing around with open source hardware/software.
